I think your first approaches, which creates the bulbous, blobby forms, are the most succesfull ones. The later ones,I would call "A long night in an Italian Restaurant".... I love your diagrams, they break down the emergent properties into a simple geometric representation. Please keep working on the bulbous version, which seems to be the most promising version. I would be curious to see how this behaviour starts to operate in three dimensional space. How it will emerge to generate a tower figure.
